There was a time when you didn’t need choreographed dancers to divert the audience from blatant lip syncing. This was also a time when pyrotechnics meant bringing your own cigarette lighter onstage.
The well-worn platitude about men not being able to do two things at once is clearly disproved by Jimmy Page in this video.
Not only does Jimmy manage to smoke effortlessly while teaching a guitar solo masterclass, he does it dressed like your uncle; the one who gambles at the pub every day. Notice how Robert Plant avoids singing the high notes, although his hair turns in a stellar performance.
