The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus – Trailer

11 Aug 2009

There aren’t enough Terry Gilliams. Besides Guillermo del Toro, who else has a proper stake in dark mainstream fantasy?

And with a filmography like Brazil, The Fisher King, Twelve Monkeys and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, the American Python’s more than made a career out of his fantastical visions.

Heath Ledger passed away during the shooting of The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. His friends, Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell and Jude Law stepped in to play alternate versions of the lead.

The result looks like a hark back to The Adventures of Baron Munchausen. With Tom Waits playing the devil.

Let’s just hope it doesn’t fall into an all-fantasy-means-no-rules-or-really-compelling-characters-to-follow world.

How do you pronounce that film title?

    Thanks Chris.

Be interested to hear what kind of work you were doing for the man.

He’s always come across as an affable guy in interviews.

    Cheers.
